On Saturday, the president held a coronavirus briefing in Norfolk, Virginia to see off the hospital shipbefore it departed for New York City. Trump, who is not an official member of the Pence-led task force, routinely appears at the press briefings to speak and his daily schedule shows he will be present Sunday.

Trump tweeted, confirming his intention on appearing, which hasof his critics. The White House official Twitter account also retweeted the president's remarks.
