Glasgow flat development gets green light despite push back

A controversial development of 59 flats has been given the green light despite pushback from the local community.in October 2021 to build flats at 131 Minerva Street in Finnieston.that the developer was given the go-ahead to demolish an 'iconic' brass foundry on the site, which was objected to by over 50 residents and disapproved by a number of local politicians.

The appeal went to the Scottish Government and was approved by the Scottish Government Reporter earlier this week. The 59 apartments will have private balconies and share a large residents' roof terrace, a children's play area, cooking facilities, a growing area, secure parking, and electric vehicle charging units.Mr Duncan said: “This is exactly the type of development that we believe is perfect for Glasgow – it will bring much-needed high-quality homes onto a brownfield site helping to bring people back into the city and promoting the use of more sustainable transport.
