NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - A local school district is recognizing students who participated in leadership programs this summer.
Every Year, the American Legion hosts a six-day crash course in government by having students create their own, complete with campaigns, elections, committee meetings, and legislation. “Boys State changed my view on government by helping me understand all the processes behind it,” says Talan Fuller, a senior at Smithson Valley High School. “Every individual citizen’s role in government is equal if not greater than any one political leader.”
