Two-time All-Pro LB from San Marcos Mission Hills High School will play in his third NFC championship game
Just 26, Fred Warner will start in his third NFC championship game Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers face the Eagles in Philadelphia. However, even when compared with Marcus Allen and Junior Seau — both first-ballot Hall of Famers — Warner is reaching Super Bowl qualifiers at a brisk rate.Allen made three AFC finales, too — but they came across a 16-year career. Over 20 seasons, Seau logged two AFC title games.
Allen produced 216 scrimmage yards in his first AFC title game, encouraging since he was only 23. “The game wasn’t as easy as it looked,” cautioned the Lincoln graduate. Seau’s record gives Warner further reason not to take playoff runs for granted. He was 25 when he led the 1994 Chargers to the 17-13 victory in Pittsburgh ... and was 39 when he returned to a Super Bowl qualifier. This time, the Oceanside High School graduate pained the Chargers by fueling New England’s victory with two tackles for loss and a sack.Durable and smart, the San Marcos Mission Hills High School graduate has led dominant defenses.
