In a release, the district wrote that both parties were called by the federal mediator to resume bargaining, and that it will"provide further updates as appropriate."CEA spokesperson Regina Fuentes said in a statement that the union is"hopeful and ready to return to the table to give our students the schools they deserve."
The resumption of bargaining comes after two days of the union striking, and right as classes begin for all Columbus City schools except Woodcrest Elementary, the district's year-round school that began on July 27. The district will continue to hold classes, though it will be through remote-learning.
