Columbus Police arrested two teenagers, a 15-year-old female and 16-year-old male, connected to the shooting of Ohio State wrestler Sammy Sasso almost two weeks ago.
According to a report obtained by, the Columbus Division of Police arrested a 15-year-old female and a 16-year-old male after witnesses confirmed the teenagers' identities to local authorities.
Sasso was shot south of Ohio State's campus at approximately 8:23 p.m. on Aug. 18. An altercation occurred in which Sasso suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen when the suspects attempted to steal Sasso's car. Medics took Sasso to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in serious condition.
"At this time, Sammy is unable to walk without assistance," his family wrote in the above statement. "While the doctors are hopeful that he will make a full recovery, Sammy has a long, difficult road ahead of him."
