David Proctor's side have been in their best-ever form this season
Cumbernauld Colts went joint-top of the Lowland League at the weekend and boss David Proctor has called on his side to believe they can keep vying for top spot this season.
Proctor’s men have played three games more than his old side Kilby but it is the club’s best-ever start to a season in the fifth tier with 10 wins, two draws and three defeats. “There are still some strong, traditional teams down the bottom end, and that just shows you how competitive it is from top to bottom.
“We have some games coming up that might define the course of the season, so we have to be prepared for them,” said Proctor.More sports news from across Lanarkshire “We will give the players Saturday off. It has been a tough start with a lot of midweek games so they can switch off a wee bit mentally and physically and we will prepare properly for the Albion Rovers game.Looking ahead to the clash with Rovers at Broadwood, Proctor knows the Monklands men will pose his side plenty of problems.
