The group of receivers included former University of Houston quarterback and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward, former UH Cougar and current Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquez Stevenson, and former Fort Bend Elkins High School standout J’Mon Moore .Kaepernick is giving the NFL another go, hoping to return to playing in the NFL.
Kaepernick and then-teammate Eric Reid filed collusion grievances against the league in October of 2017, saying they were blacklisted because of protests during the anthem at games. They reached a settlement in 2019. In his final season of 2016, Kaepernick played in 12 games, starting 11 for the 49ers. In those games, he threw for over 2200 yards with 16 touchdown passes and 4 interceptions, also rushing for two more touchdowns.
On Sunday, Kaepernick tweeted: “For The past 5 years I’ve been working out and staying ready in case an opportunity to play presented itself. I’m really grateful to my trainer, who I’ve been throwing to all this time. But man, do I miss throwing to professional route runners. Who’s working??
