Cole Sprouse is standing up for his female Disney co-stars, who he said were “so heavily sexualized” at an extremely young age.

explained that while people have criticized his peers for "going nuts," those same critics fail to address the trauma that comes from working in the industry at a young age. He went on to say that he is "violently defensive against people who mock some of the young women who were on the channel when I was younger because I don't feel like it adequately comprehends the humanity of that experience and what it takes to recover.

"The young women on the channel we were on [Disney Channel] were so heavily sexualized from such an earlier age than my brother and I that there's absolutely no way that we could compare our experiences," he told theWhile Cole has pursued other acting projects like"psychological effects" he and his peers have endured from childhood fame can still happen in their adult lives.
