National Weather Service officials forecast frigid temperatures Saturday with windchills below zero, but later rising into the 20s.
Officials were expecting scattered flurries and snow showers through Saturday afternoon in portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana.Officials said little to no snow accumulation would be seen but windchills were expected to be at or below zero Saturday morning before climbing to the low teens into the afternoon.
Current conditions at Midway Airport were breezy with light snow at 15 degrees with a windchill of negative 9. At O’Hare International Airport it was breezy at 13 degrees with windchills at negative 11.
