Florida falls from top 10 after rivalry loss in newest Amway Coaches Poll

USA TODAYWith just one true marquee game and more than a third of the Top 25 taking the week off, there wasn’t much change anticipated in the Amway Coaches Poll. That was indeed the case this week, as the top five stayed put followed by a bit of shuffling in the top 10.

Alabama and LSU remain No. 1 and 2, respectively, on the eve of their head-to-head showdown. The Crimson Tide received 37 of 65 first-place votes this week while 11 panelists put the Bayou Bengals first. Clemson, which rolled past FCS member Wofford, narrowly held on to the No. 3 spot with nine firsts. The Tigers finished three poll points ahead of No. 4 Ohio State, which claimed the remaining eight No. 1 nods. No. 5 Penn State will also be involved in a battle of unbeatens next week at No.

Florida wide receiver Trevon Grimes is tackled by linebacker Monty Rice during the second half at TIAA Bank Field.Georgia, the winner of the biggest game on the Week 10 slate against archrival Florida, moved up to the No. 6 position as the Gators slid to No. 11.
