A grand jury has levied felony charges against a police officer accused of stealing cash seized from the scene of a drug raid earlier this year.
Douglas McGilbra, a Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority police officer, is charged with theft in office, tampering with evidence and dereliction of duty in the Jan. 3 incident.CLEVELAND, Ohio --
CMHA released a statement that said its officers went to an apartment after receiving a call about a possible drug dealer. The officers seized narcotics and cash and made an arrest, the statement said. The statement did not say where the incident occurred, how much cash officers seized, how much money was later found to be missing or when the department learned it was missing. CMHA spokeswoman Courtney Crockett did not immediately respond to requests for further information.
