CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Alex Cobb makes his second start of the season on Wednesday night as the Guardians try to sweep the Cubs and extend their winning streak to five games.
The Guardians acquired Cobb at the trade deadline from the Giants even though he had not pitched in a big league game this season. He started and lost the second game of Friday’s doubleheader against the Twins at Target Field. He did throw 80 pitches and manager Stephen Vogt, Cobb’s former teammate, was encourage by what he saw from a big-picture sense.
