Five sites were originally considered after council decided in 2018 that a replacement for SaskTel Centre ought to be in the city centre. Three of the sites were eliminated from consideration because they simply aren’t large enough to fit the proposed building, according to a city media release issued Wednesday.Article content
City technical services director Dan Willems noted in the media release that the location near Midtown scores the highest of the two, based on evaluation criteria approved by council earlier this year.
A council vote on Monday in favour of the report would trigger the launch of a public consultation process that would run from Aug. 30 through Oct. 3, including both telephone and online surveys of residents.
