Cities Skylines 2 developer Colossal Order will be addressing the game's rampant performance issues soon with a 'series of small patches.'
Cities Skylines 2 developer Colossal Order has announced their post-launch plans to improve the current playability of their latest city-building simulator. Though the reception to their latest series entry has been less than ideal, their strategy will look to improve the game’s overall playability through a series of patches that will address the performance issues that many players have been struggling with.
Colossal Order then added that their goal with these upcoming patches is to improve the game with its default settings. They would also note that the performance target for their game “is to run at a steady 30FPS” because “there is no real benefit in a city builder to aim for higher FPS.” However, they do mention that 60FPS “can contribute to better visuals in relation to temporal effects,” so they “don’t intend to limit or stop the optimization work just because” they’ve reached their goal.
