Victory sets up another game against Foothill, which lost to De La Salle in the NCS D-I final last week.
De La Salle’s Cade Cushing, shown here in a game last week, knocked in the first two runs Tuesday against Del Campo with a double. CONCORD – De La Salle and Foothill have developed a nice little rivalry in baseball this season.
The top-seeded Spartans beat De Campo-Fair Oaks 9-3 on Tuesday. A few miles to the south, Foothill manhandled Palo Alto 15-5. Still, after the six-run first, Del Campo never got closer than four runs. The Cougars scored twice in the fifth to make it 7-3, but the Spartans answered with two runs in the sixth on a single to left by Alec Nava.
RBIs by Connor Harrison, Donovan Chriss, Ethan Dungo and a Del Campo fielding error allowed the other four runs to score.
