Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie criticized 2024 rival and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for skipping a meeting with President Joe Biden over the weekend as he toured parts of DeSantis's state in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia.
"He was playing politics with it, but that's his choice. I'm not the least bit surprised that that's what he chose to do," Christie said Tuesday on The Brian Kilmeade Show."You're the governor of the state.
Biden said he was"disappointed" DeSantis did not appear with him after the governor's spokesman claimed that the disruption his visit would cause was a reason for the no-show from DeSantis."We don’t have any plans for the Governor to meet with the President tomorrow," Jeremy Redfern said in a statement on Friday.
