A custodial manager from Chorley charged with manslaughter over the death of a prison inmate is set to appear in court today .
But following a police investigation, both members of staff were prosecuted over Mr Paine's death. Court lists state that this involved "failing to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may have been affected by your acts and omissions at work". LancsLive previously reported how both appeared before Liverpool Magistrates' Court on December 1 last year, where they spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth. They were not asked to enter pleas and were released on unconditional bail ahead of a further appearance at Liverpool Crown Court this morning, the ECHO reports.
