Some concerns had been raised about traffic on nearby roads, a canal and children's safety

Plans to change the use of a West Lancashire house in Scarisbrick into a children's care home have been approved.

An application to change of use of 2C Moorfield Lane, Scarisbrick, into a children's care home was given permission at the latest meeting of West Lancashire Council's planning committee. The plan was called-in for scrutiny by councillors by Conservative Coun Alexander Blundell, especially to consider the impact on neighbours. A planning permission notice issued by the council states: "The noise management scheme shall review all noise-making activities and identify appropriate methods for reducing or limiting noise in outdoor areas which is likely to be audible at nearby residential properties.
