As the Chiefs trim their roster to 53 players, Toney is getting waived, and will look for his next NFL home.Toney has tons of talent but has struggled to stick around in the NFL. The former first-round pick in 2021 by the New York Giants has logged 82 catches, 760 yards, and three touchdowns across 32 career games with the Giants and Chiefs.
In Week 14, he was called for an offside penalty in the fourth quarter of a game against the Buffalo Bills in which Travis Kelce made a cross-field lateral that would have given the Chiefs the lead with less than two minutes left.The very next week, Toney bobbled a pass against the New England Patriots that turned into an interception. That was the last game he played for the Chiefs due to what the team called hip and ankle injuries.Toney wasn't done making headlines, though.
