Mayoral candidates Brandon Johnson, left, and Paul Vallas acknowledge the audience after Vallas wished Johnson a happy birthday before their debate at WBBM-Ch. 2 on March 28, 2023.Since Feb. 28, the Chicago Tribune has sent reporters and photographers around the city to follow mayoral candidates Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson as they’ve pressed their case to voters.
