Just like in the classic holiday film, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” Chevy Chase had to try several times to flip the switch to illuminate Christmas lights on a building Tuesday night.
At the filming of a holiday commercial for Raising Cane's restaurants Nov. 29 in Morton Grove, the lights have just been illuminated and actor Chevy Chase, in red sweater, reacts. Raising Cane's founder Todd Graves, standing, said he's always loved Chase's"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" movie.
Robbin Wald of Northbrook, in the yellow coat, said she waited three hours to see actor Chevy Chase light Christmas lights in Morton Grove Nov. 29. In the movie, Griswold doesn’t get the grand illumination on the first flip of the switch. Jake McDonagh, 15, of Niles and a Niles West sophomore, participated in the Wolves drumline and has watched “Christmas Vacation.” All the while, when the actor was within earshot, people in the crowd called out to Chase, hoping to get the actor’s attention.The actors, including Chevy Chase, filming a holiday commercial in Morton Grove for Raising Cane's restaurants got some help with their lines.
