Channel 5 viewers were left in tears as they watched Richard Spencer's devastating story in My Wife My Abuser: The Secret Footage and urged men to speak out.
A violent wife's 20-year campaign of abuse against her husband has been laid bare in a new TV documentary.
Viewers were horrified as he shared the most "demoralising thing" that happened to him. He said: "The most demoralising thing that happened to me. I was sitting on the bedroom floor because Sheree wouldn't let me sit on the bed. Channel 5 viewers watched terrifying nanny cam footage that exposed Sheree's abuse from their Bubwith home in East Yorkshire. In one clip, Sheree can be seen spitting at her husband and grabbing him by the throat.
One said: "This poor, poor man. There must be many men out there suffering. I hope they come forward. #MyWifeMyAbuser." Another wrote: "I hope that after this has aired on tv any MAN who suffers any sort of domestic violence doesn't feel ashamed or alone to speak out. I hope it helps others come forward. YOU matter and how your treated matters #Mywifemyabuser."
