The chances of snow in Greater Manchester as UK braces for coldest day of the year
Spring may be on the way, but you might want to keep your big coat out a little longer as temperatures are set to plummet across the UK this week.
Some areas of Greater Manchester even woke up to snowfall this morning, as the white stuff was spotted in high ground in parts of Oldham. Here's how the weather is looking in the region over the coming days.This morning's short flurry is likely to be all the snowfall we'll see in Greater Manchester today as temperatures look set to steadily climb from 3C at 10am to 7C by 3pm.
Monday morning will see patchy cloud and wintry showers. But forecasters say the weather will turn brighter into the afternoon - with some potential for snow showers in the north west alongside a mix of sunny spells. The maximum temperature is likely to be 6C, with lows of -1C. Temperatures will pick up slightly on Wednesday, with highs of 5C and lows of 0C. Forecasters are warning of overnight frosts, but it is currently set to be a cloudy but dry day in the region.
