Upcoming premium Android smartphones to get satellite connectivity - letting you communicate without signal
Qualcomm and Iridium demonstrated the technology in the Nevada desert, hence all the phones being pointed towards the skyUpcoming premium Android smartphones will boast satellite connectivity, allowing users to send messages without any mobile signal.
The firms have worked together on the so-called Snapdragon Satellite chip, which will form part of high-end Android handsets due for release in the second half of 2023 onwards., however this currently only allows for satellite connectivity to be used to contact emergency services.
