Cavaliers Acquire Donovan Mitchell From Jazz - RealGM Wiretap
The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to acquire Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz were widely expected to eventually trade Mitchell to the New York Knicks, but the two sides were unable to come to terms on a deal. Utah will acquire three unprotected first round picks and two pick swaps from the Cavaliers as part of the trade. The Jazz will also acquire Collin Sexton on a four-year sign-and-trade as well as Lauri Markkanen and Ochai Agbaji.
The picks going to Utah will be in 2025, 2027 and 2029 as the Cavaliers already owe a top-14 protected pick to the Indiana Pacers in 2023. The Knicks came to terms on a four-year, $107 million contract extension with RJ Barrett on Monday, which complicated their talks with Utah as he had been included in various iterations of the trade.
