APA activists criticised Met commissioner Sir Mark Rowley for failing to agree with the Casey Review that his force was institutionally racist.
Sir Mark claimed the term ‘institutional racism’ was “ambiguous” and “politicised.” However, race equality activists hit back, saying that institutional racism wasby Sir William Macpherson, and the only people who were politicising the term were opponents of change. “And that’s the thing. The rest of the country will be defensive. And so you’re not going to even have the attitudinal changes that’s necessary. You’re not going to see the accountability and transparency that’s critical.”shouting about the event discriminating against “white people”.
