A nurse has been sanctioned over her 'chaotic practice' whilst working at a Morecambe care home
A nurse working at a Lancashire care home almost caused a scabies outbreak, a Nursing and Midwifery Council Fitness to Practise Committee report concluded.
In her oral evidence, Ms Dixon was found to have said she "did not do it". On September 23, it was documented that Ms Dixon had failed to administer scabies treatments to three affected residents. This risked the potential of an outbreak of scabies in the home, putting 97 other residents and 120 staff members at risk.
Also on September 23, the Sands Nursing and Retirement Home informed Ms Dixon they would not be employing her on any more bank shifts due to concerns over the nurse's practice. Nine days later on October 2, she applied for a job at Dovehaven Lodge Nursing Home and was given an interview.
