Captain Janeway is famous for her ever-changing hairdo on Star Trek: Voyager and had seven distinct styles over the course of the show.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Captain Janeway had an impressive array of hairstyles throughout Star Trek: Voyager, and some of them were better than others. Janeway was Star Trek's first female lead while she captained the USS Voyager from 1995 to 2001. As such, the character faced unique challenges that other Star Trek captains hadn't had to deal with, especially regarding how she was written, portrayed, and styled.

6 The Bun Voyager seasons 1,2&3 Close Janeway's "bun of steel" is arguably her most iconic hairstyle, and was present for the majority of Voyager season 1 and 2, as well as some of season 3. Like the ponytail, the way that the bun was styled varied a bit, but the basic look remained the same the entire time Janeway used it. The style had a sizable bouffant in the front where the hair puffed out before being gathered on the top of Janeway's head in a tight circle.

4 The French Twist Voyager season 1 One final variation on the bun was a French twist hairstyle that Janeway adopted occasionally. This style saw the hair gathered at the back of her head and tucked in such a way that it almost looked like the hair was being sucked back in on itself. This style was just about as common as Janeway's fancy bun, only appearing in a handful of episodes during Voyager season 1.
