The farther north you are, the lighter accumulations will be. Very little if any accumulating snow is expected north of Weber County.
Strong canyon winds along the Wasatch Front & Cache Valley could continue to gust above 50 mph early in the morning. Winds should decrease after sunrise, but it could still be blustery. Wind and snow will die down this evening, but a cold airmass will remain in place for another couple days.Wednesday: Canyon winds decreasing after sunrise. Cloudy & colder with 1-2 inches of snow likely. NW winds 10-20 mph in the afternoon. Highs: Upper 20s.

Can the Glen Canyon Dam be modified to continue producing power if drought continues?As the Colorado River basin continues to suffer from the worst twenty-year period of drought in at least 1,200 years, the Bureau of Reclamation is studying potential modifications to Glen Canyon Dam that could allow continued hydropower production despite rapidly dropping reservoir levels. The bureau has set aside $2 million in drought funding to study potential modifications to the dam, which could include adding turbines and generators to the bypass tubes that can drain water from the reservoir, even if it drops 100 feet below the existing hydropower intakes.
