Lavontae Poole, 19, will be eligible for parole after serving 15 years for killing 34-year-old Brandon Varner and wounding three others, including a 12-year-old boy.
AKRON, Ohio — A Canton man who fatally shot one person and wounded three others in 2019 was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison.
According to prosecutors, Poole and two others went to a home on Rowe Street in Akron on June 26, 2019, to rob the occupants and steal marijuana. Once inside the home, Poole and the others opened fire,and wounding 39-year-old Terica Poole and 24-year-old Marquis Locket. A 12-year-old boy was also was wounded.
