CAMPBELL — Firefighters battled a fire at a commercial building Friday morning, according to authorities.
Crews responded to a fire in a three-story vacant commercial building in the area of Dell Avenue and Knowles Drive, the Santa Clara County Fire Department said in a 10:17 a.m. tweet. Units started working to control the fire and requested a second alarm, officials said. People were asked to avoid the scene and keep drones out of the area. Photos posted on social media showed heavy smoke in the building.
Firefighters were still clearing the structure and determining the extent of the fire at 10:36 a.m. Knowles and Dell were closed between Winchester Boulevard and Division Street.
