Cameron Diaz shares her surprising (and refreshing) approach to beauty and aging
the actor opens up about navigating the “infantilizing” effects of fame, society’s unrealistic beauty standards, and why, deep down, she’s just like everyone else.
Removing herself from the spotlight, however, has helped her on her journey towards self-acceptance. “The last thing I think about on a daily basis, maybe not at all during the day, is what I look like,” she muses. It’s a refreshing departure from her life as an actor, where she would spend hours in front of the mirror in hair and makeup “picking [her]self apart.”
