The north London set up is all about inclusivity and reducing the historically expensive costs associated with fencing to allow more people to get involved with the sportCAMDEN FENCING CLUB is one of the country’s most successful in the country, and welcomes people from all ages and backgrounds, as well as abilities.
We did a lot of volunteering and fundraising to try and get money so local children could go abroad or even compete around the country.We are probably one of the most diverse clubs in the country, if not the most diverse club in the country and I’m proud that the makeup of our junior club is probably a 50/50 split between boys and girls, which is rare. That’s another achievement, we’ve done really well in making it more inclusive and having socials so that everybody can integrate and mix.
The legacy for me is to make sure I leave the club in a situation where it’s sustainable, and we’re still able to cater for those who are at lower incomes.
