Gavin Blackburn says they're nearly at their £5k fundraising target
Cambuslang Rugby Club boss Gavin Blackburn admits he was ‘humbled’ when rugby pals from across the country arrived in numbers to raise money for little Amber McRae.
Blackburn has been fundraising for months, and undertook a run from East Kilbride to Ayr, as well as organising the game at Coates Park on Saturday, May 11, which has taken the total to over £4000 as they chase a £5k total. “There were guys from Berwick, Jed-Forest, Ayr, all over the place, really, to play against a Cambuslang first team.
“The day went really well, it was pretty well attended, over £800 was raised on the raffle, I think, though we’ve still to get a total on it, and the weather was perfect, you couldn’t have scripted it.“We’re still to get a total on it, but we’re well over £4000 now, so I’m going to leave the page open for another couple of weeks, and hope that we get another few donations.”
