It's been a rough year for Ramsay but he's hoping it's in the rear-view mirror now as he targets finally making his Preston debut.
Calvin Ramsay is hoping he can put a year from hell behind him and come back stronger for Preston and Liverpool.
He missed the entire second half of last season and was sent out to Preston with a view to racking up senior minutes outside of the Anfield limelight. But his return from injury at Deepdale proved a false dawn; a recurrence of his knee problem meant another long spell on the sidelines and he had to return to Merseyside for treatment before he'd even kicked a ball competitively.
Ramsay told the Preston website: “I’m delighted to be back. It’s been a tough year for me with a couple of knee injuries, but this time when I went back to Liverpool for my rehab I made sure I worked harder than ever. I wanted to come back and get a good run in the team hopefully, and try and show what I can do, so I’m delighted to be back and get some minutes today, and I’m ready to go.
“It was quite tough but I tried to keep in contact with a lot of them and was messaging them. They were asking how I was doing and stuff. It was good to keep in contact with them and I’m just glad to be back now.
