Busy time for Goldhorn Brewery: New brewer, baseball beer, craft-soda venture

Goldhorn Brewery has a few things going on – a new brewer, a special collaboration with the Baseball Heritage Museum and a craft-soda venture.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sarah Krueger has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. Actually, she has hit a solid triple.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Kent State in English with a teaching certificate and a master’s in cognitive linguistics.Born in Lakewood, the 35-year-old actually taught in Saudi Arabia for a few years. Alcohol is very illegal there, she said, “but you find your ways.”It’s been a seamless transition since Warger, a talented and well-liked brewer, left, and Krueger went solo.

“This is my first beer, which is where the ‘unassisted’ came from,” she said. “It’s my very first start-to-finish, recipe and everything.”Ball, who played for the Cleveland Naps from 1909 to 1912, is credited with the first unassisted triple play in Major League history. And then he led off the bottom of the inning by hitting his only home run of the season.“She swung for the fences with this one,” Semersky said, not sidestepping the baseball analogy.
