Arrayah Barrett, the 2-year-old daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett, drowned on Sunday morning in the family’s swimming pool, accordingOfficers responded to a call about a child falling into a pool on Sunday around 9:30 a.m.
Arrayah was transported to a nearby hospital, but even with lifesaving measures, the 2-year-old was pronounced dead a short time after arrival, the Tampa Bay Times reported.Police are currently investigating the death, but it is believed to be a purely accidental and tragic incident, according to a TPD statement.The Buccaneers posted a statement following the news of Arrayah’s death.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna, and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time,”“While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah.”
