Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston relives the time scripts for the final two episodes of the show were stolen out of his car. First airing on AMC in 2008, Breaking Bad would go on to become one of the most revered TV shows of all time.
The actor remembers returning to his car after a hike to find his briefcase, with the scripts inside, stolen. As if having the scripts stolen wasn't bad enough, Cranston shares that he ended up becoming the target of backlash online after false rumors about his handling of the situation were leaked to the press. So that leaked somehow, some way. The next day on Good Morning America, ‘Bryan Cranston had his scripts stolen and called 911. We have the tape!’ And then, as the social media will have it, I got a lot of blowback. ‘Why would he busy up the 911 signal? Someone may really need that!’ There was rumor [about the script], and then [creator] Vince Gilligan changed a lot of it because he didn’t want it to leak.
