It was a marriage that made headline across the world, but one that, according to reports, ended six-years later with an email. Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall's marriage came to an end, with the publishing mogul reportedly using just an 11-word sentence to break the news to his wife.
According to the pal, the message read: "Jerry, sadly I’ve decided to call an end to our marriage." It continued: "We have certainly had some good times, but I have much to do. My New York lawyer will be contacting yours immediately". News of the split first spread in June 2022. Almost one year on from their unexpected divorce, the new claims have emerged about the brutal way in which Murdoch went about informing his wife that he wanted their marriage to end, reported the Mirror.
In a report by Vanity Fair, it is claimed that security guards are believed to have watched Hall pack her belongings at the couple’s Los Angeles home as she was 'helped by her children'. The divorce was finalised in August last year.
