Baker Mayfield said after the Browns lost to the Steelers he would have surgery and would discuss whether or not to play in Week 18.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield confirmed he would have surgery to repair the torn labrum in his left non-throwing shoulder and didn’t rule out the possibility of sitting in Week 18 when the Browns take on the Bengals.
“I’ve made the decision, we’ve had discussions that I am going to have surgery, I am going to get this shoulder fixed and be able to come back next year at 100 percent,” Mayfield said in a Zoom call with reporters following Monday night’s 26-14 loss to the Steelers at Heinz Field. “That’s been decided. Now, when it’s happening, that has not been decided.”
