One Brooklyn Health executives briefed health care workers on the plans in July and have already begun preparing patients and staff to transition to other providers and move into other jobs within the system. Over 300 employees, many of them unionized, will be affected by the closures. “We have to be responsible in identifying where there are opportunities for us to reduce our expenses and to reduce our dependency on the state,” Brown said in an interview.
