Brooke Shields, 56, Opens Up About Owning Her Sexuality and the ‘Knowledge That Comes With Age’
and should love their changing bodies. “I believe that it's a misconception that women can't be sexy over a certain age,” Shields said in the interview. “The acceptance of our bodies come at a later date. I live much more in my body now than I ever did.”
At 56 years old, Shields found comfort in her own skin that she didn’t have in her 20s and 30s. “My body actually feels like it belongs to me. And I can't say that about my youth,” she said. “I think there is a misconception that if you are not of childbearing ability, you don't seem to matter in the world. Because you do not keep the world going anymore.”
And Shields has most certainly pushed boundaries and approached life with strong confidence over the last few years. “We walk into rooms now and kind of think, well, I got nothing to lose. There's an uncomplicated nature to it. Confidence is the sexiest thing that I've ever encountered,” she said in the interview.
