In this week’s Broncos Mailbag, we tackle questions on if KJ Hamler’s the odd man out at receiver, Josey Jewell’s future and Hall of Fame predictions.

One of the ways to think about the draft is to look not at the current year’s needs, but the next year’s. The Broncos drafted Sanders in the third round because they think he prototypes as a “Mike” linebacker in the future and they think he can pressure the quarterback in addition to playing in the middle of the field and covering. But it’s easy to see what you’re talking about, too, Mark.

Albert Okwuegbunam looks like he could be the odd man out in training camp. He’s shown some flashes in 2021, but he was hardly on the field last year. Adam Trautman is going to get many of those minutes behind Greg Dulcich, especially as a Sean Payton guy.Numbers-wise, the Broncos’ tight end room looks about like it did last year. Chris Manhertz fills the blocking-first role held by Eric Tomlinson in 2022. Adam Trautman does a little bit of everything the way Eric Saubert was cast to do.

Do you see any Broncos players or coaches getting into the Hall of Fame this year? Randy Gradishar is long overdue. So is Mike Shanahan.I’m not a Hall of Fame expert, but you’re within your right to think Gradishar and Shanahan are overdue.over Dallas’ Chuck Howley. He also pointed out one of the factors that could work in Gradishar’s favor: This year and next, the NFL is advancing up to three seniors for enshrinement.
