Temperatures stay closer to seasonal averages tonight, Friday. Expect scattered showers and thundershowers at times Friday. Higher heat, humidity returns this weekend.
Cloud cover from the remnants of Beryl along with winds from the northwest finally broke our heatwave with temperatures only rising into the lower to mid 80s Thursday afternoon. We'll get some breaks in the cloud cover overnight and we could see some patchy, dense fog, because of lingering humidity and thanks to wet ground from passing scattered storms Wednesday evening. Lows tonight will be near 70.
This will help generate some passing showers and thundershowers at times Friday. Best chances for these thundershowers will be east of the Susquehanna River and York County. Rainfall doesn't look to be heavy, but some areas could receive upwards of a quarter to half an inch of rain. Shower chances linger into Friday night. The higher heat and humidity returns this weekend with highs in the lower 90s Saturday and mid 90s Sunday.
