Marcie had the tests and then we were brand new parents who were left in complete limbo. All we were really told was ‘not to Google’ anything. It was the longest five days of our lives and we did a lot of crying. It was such a scary time, which was exacerbated by being told “I’m sorry” by so many of the medical professionals we met. There wasn’t a lot of positivity at this point.

I finally saw lived experience from families going through the same as us and people who were further down the road. It was refreshing and it gave me so much hope for the future. ‘She has a better social life than me’ But I’ll be honest and say it has been emotionally tough at times. I took Marcie to a lot of baby groups in the first year and there was a realisation every time that I was on a different journey and I couldn’t always share in the same conversations as other parents. I did find it hard seeing my friend’s babies crawling up to them and walking around, not knowing if and when Marcie would be doing the same.

‘We’ve come up against stereotypes’ It hasn’t been an easy journey to get to this point and trying to get physiotherapy and speech therapy through the NHS and Marcie’s EHCP have been very challenging. But these are things she is entitled to and needs to thrive so we will fight for whatever she needs. We’ve also had to deal with some rude and hurtful comments, in particular by medical professionals.

Down Syndrome UK is a charity which raises awareness of Down Syndrome and supports families and professionals who want to help people with the condition. ‘We’ll definitely have a break after this one. We got to have a break because we’ve done five year old, four year old, one year old, and now another one. We’ve got to have a little bit of a break, I think.’Luckily for Joe, he’s a fan of a hectic household. ‘I just love the chaos. I don’t like quiet,’ he told us.‘And I’m so used to having kids running around, and it is stressful.

‘I think Leni, she’s always on me, she’s always on Rosie, so I don’t know how she’s going to react to the new baby coming. But they adapt, don’t they, pretty quickly. And I’ve just got to spend a bit more time cuddling Leni and looking after her and stuff so she doesn’t feel left out when the new one comes along.’

‘So I really try to be a different parent. So when my kids are whinging and arguing and fighting and it goes from zero to 100, my stress levels got really high. My cortisol goes really high. And I want to scream and shout. ‘And the reason Marley is getting good at football is because I’m out there in the rain when it was freezing cold and pi**ing down.

The show takes place at London County Hall, a historic landmark in the heart of the capital next to the London Eye, so it’s in a great location and is super easy to get to when you’re in London. It revolves around Leonard Vole who is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. Throughout the tale, he aims to convince the jury of his innocence and avoid being sent to his death.

We spoke to the people next to us in the intervals guessing who was guilty, but very few people guessed correctly.‘The perfect gift’ This production appeals to anyone captivated by intriguing courtroom dramas and thrilling mysteries. It’s suitable for both seasoned theatre-goers and those new to the genre.

Various seating options are available to suit different preferences and budgets. I would suggest spending the extra money on the courtroom stalls, if you can afford it. The DfE said: ‘From that date, eligible working parents of children from 9 months old will be able to register to access 15 hours of government-funded childcare a week, with the offer beginning from September 2024.

Parents of babies aged nine months will be able to apply any time after your baby is 24 weeks old, so long as they will be turning 9 months old by the 31 August 2024. For example, this means parents of children born on or after 1 September will have to wait until 1 January to get the funded hours. Will there be enough childcare places available? Previously, the Education Secretary Gillian said it could never be guaranteed.‘All you can do is put all the plans in place and then react if you need to’ when asked whether there would be enough childcare spaces available as part of this scheme.

Remember grieving for a pet who has offered them friendship and love can be just as hard as losing a relative. Find a safe space to tell him.

It’s okay to occasionally help your friends when in need. But becoming a drop off centre has to stop because you will end up being resentful and unhappy, which could cause you to lose friendships you don’t want to lose. I can totally see why people do it due to expense reasons, but you have to think of the pros and cons.
