Belt was activated from the COVID IL before the game Saturday but exited in the 8th inning with an apparent upper-body injury.
SAN FRANCISCO — Back from his bout with COVID-19, Giants first baseman Brandon Belt made five trips to the plate Saturday before it looked like he was headed back to the shelf.
After the game, Kapler said Belt was dealing with stiffness in his neck and was considered day-to-day. A long layoff can increase any kind of injury risk, and Belt was playing his first game since last Wednesday, a span of 10 days.
