A court has heard how a 15-year-old who was enticed into a sexual relationship with a woman nearly twice his age thought he had ‘hit the jackpot’. The teen felt he was ‘in love’ with Nicole Lines, who plied him with cannabis and alcohol.

Despite suspicions, police could find no evidence of grooming until the boy alerted authorities himself.‘He expressed thoughts of suicide and self-harm.’ She admitted sexual activity with a child, possessing indecent images of the boy and supply and possession of a Class B drug. Sentencing her at Canterbury crown court to a two-year suspended jail term, Judge Rupert Lowe described her actions as ‘serious sexual offences’.
