Two boys deny murdering Nathaniel Shani in Harpurhey
A teenage boy said people were ‘crying’ and ‘panicking’ when a 14-year-old collapsed after being stabbed to the neck. Nathaniel Shani died after being knifed in Harpurhey.
Under questioning, he agreed that Nathaniel was ‘very cross’ when he learned that cannabis had been stolen from his friend, earlier on the day he was fatally stabbed. Jurors have heard that Nathaniel had become involved in ‘street level’ drug dealing ‘through people older than him’.“We have let and that rob people. We look so f****** wet bro. At least go and get this s*** back.”
He said Nathaniel told him he was going to meet him alone, but the witness said he and others would come with him. He said they met in the alleyway and that after Nathaniel saw Boy A had a knife, he told him: "If you're going to stab me, come stab me." "He just dropped to the floor. After that, five, six, seven minutes, the police came and the ambulance came, and then they was doing their job.
