The schoolboy was rushed to hospital
Emergency services were called to Ormskirk Road in Pemberton, Wigan, at around 8.21am to reports a child had been hit by a car. Witnesses reported seeing "loads of police and paramedics" at the scene.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed it received a call at 8.30am regarding a road traffic collision involving a child.
